We participate in a variety of projects important to our community, through fundraising efforts and volunteering, we seek to assist those in need.
Below are some of our annual projects:
Some of the money that is collected by Acocks Green Lions goes to provide
Christmas hampers for deserving people in the Acocks Green area.
Each year goods are purchased and made up into approximately fifty hampers,
which are then personally delivered by individual Lions.
We aim to provide some basic food items plus a few treats and to ensure that the
recipients know that they are being thought of at this special time of year.
We tow our sleigh to the Acocks Green area and make door to door collections
with Santa, which helps raise funds for other projects.
On two Saturdays we collect in the Centre of Acocks Green.
One evening, we visit a local home for young people delivering a small gift.
In addition, we collect one evening assisted by the students of Ninestiles School and another with the 260th Scouts group.
Afternoon Tea / New Years Lunch:
Afternoon tea is held at Ninestiles School, where entertainment is provided
by talented students from the school. In addition, the visitors enjoy
Bingo and a raffle.
Lunch is provided and served to the visitors by the Lions.
New Years lunch is held at Fox Hollies Forum.
Where a fish and chip supper, followed by a dessert, is enjoyed by all invited.
Schools and pensioners groups are provided with the funds to hire the coaches.
We are proud to announce that we are litter picking once a month again starting on
5th April around Acocks Green.

One of our biggest projects is collecting unwanted glasses and recycling them for people who need them in other parts of the world. A list of where you can drop your unwanted glasses will be up soon.
As well as Spectacles we recycle ink cartridges, used postage stamps and bras. More details to follow soon.
These vary from sponsoring local community projects or overseas projects to support for international competitions.
