Acocks Green Lions Blog: Created By Steph one of our younger members.

Since September 2018, I have served as a Lion helping my local community.

Birmingham Acocks Green Lions are an ever-growing group of incredible people sharing a united passion and love of helping the local community to make it better for everyone.
Our members serve others and do a range of activities, such as reading for the blind, knitting hearts for covid patients, creating PPE for front line staff, supporting local food banks, shopping for the vulnerable and distributing small grants to local charities and organisations.

Was that a flash of yellow that caught your eye? You may have seen the reflection of our Hi-vis' at the Gospel Lane Skate Park where we do litter picking and making the area safer and cleaner for locals.
Has your kettle boiled? Have a brew on us! We've distributed cards to local people with a teabag in, reminding people that we're thinking of them and are reaching out to them.

Every year Acocks Green Lions get their walking boots on for an annual charity walk and at Christmas we brave the cold weather and ride the Santa Sleigh, delivering hampers and bringing the magic of Christmas to the children.
We are all volunteers which means every penny raised goes to good causes no one earns a wage, and we all have fun and a laugh too!
We are one of many clubs around the world all part of Lions Club International (LCI), which is the world's largest voluntary organisation. Through various grants, the LCI provides global as well as local service and humanitarian support, enabling it to run various community projects.
Are you looking to make a difference in your community? Why not find out more about your local Lions Club, and get involved?
